The Benefits of Messy Play

What is Messy Play (Sensory Play) and why is it Important?

“Messy play, closely related to sensory play, refers to activities where students engage freely with different materials. This approach steps away from traditional structured learning, allowing learners to lead their exploration and interact with a variety of textures and substances. It's a vital educational tool that supports creativity, problem-solving, and a range of other skills in a student's learning journey.” - acceleratelearning.com

To adults who have been able to use our senses to grow this might seem messy but it’s a new exploration for our kids.

We use all nontoxic paints, crayons, markers, play dough and materials. These also tend to wash off skin easily but may stain some clothing. We will make sure kids are cleaned well after each activity as much as we can but a child having fun and learning will get messy. So please try not to put them in clothing you don’t want to get ruined.
